Laser Skin Resurfacing

Florida Oral & Facial Surgical Associates offers laser skin resurfacing to patients in Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, New Smyrna Beach, Titusville, Deltona, Port Orange and Ormond Beach, FL.

Surgery is not the only way to improve the look of your skin. One very popular non-invasive skin care technique is laser skin resurfacing. Also known as a photo facial, laser skin resurfacing can reduce fine lines, scarring, uneven pigmentation and even sun damage, greatly enhancing the overall look of your skin. Here at Florida Oral & Facial Surgical Associates, our highly trained skin care technicians use a variety of lasers and intense pulse light devices to improve the texture of your skin and restore a youthful, rejuvenated appearance.

If you're interested in learning more about the benefits of this procedure, please give us a call today to set up your complimentary consultation. Or you can see the results with your own eyes by viewing some laser skin resurfacing before and after pictures. Our friendly and helpful staff would be happy to answer any questions, including average laser skin resurfacing prices, so don't hesitate to give us a call today.

How is Laser Skin Resurfacing Performed?

Depending on the size and severity of the treatment area, this procedure can last anywhere from five minutes to an hour and a half. Once your skin is thoroughly cleaned, your technician will apply an antibiotic to the treatment area to kill any bacteria. Then, she will pass the laser over the skin, emitting brief, high-intensity beams of light to remove the outer layers, making way for new, healthier skin cells to form.

Once the photo facial procedure is completed, your technician will apply a protective ointment or bandage to the treated area.

Am I a Good Candidate for Laser Skin Resurfacing?

If you are unhappy with the look of wrinkles, age spots, sun damage and/or light scarring, you may be a good candidate for laser skin resurfacing. The best candidates are healthy individuals (preferably non-smokers) with lighter skin tone, as they tend to benefit the most from this procedure. If you have very sensitive skin, or if you are prone to cold sores or have active acne, laser skin resurfacing may not be for you. Your doctor will discuss all of this with you during your initial consultation.

What Kind of Post-Operative Laser Skin Resurfacing Care Can I Expect?

Following your laser skin resurfacing procedure, your technician will apply a bandage, which must be kept dry. This will be changed a few days after the procedure. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising and itching, but cold packs and over-the-counter pain medication should help reduce these symptoms.

Your doctor will provide you with a specific skin-care regimen, which you should follow meticulously for best results. Do not to pick at any scabs that form, as this could result in scarring. In addition, try to stay out of the sun for at least six months to a year following your laser skin resurfacing to ensure the best results.

What are the Typical Results of Laser Resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing leaves patients with a more youthful, glowing complexion. It is very effective in combating signs of aging and other imperfections, which you can see in these laser skin resurfacing before and after photos.

It's important to remember, however, that laser skin resurfacing will not stop further aging or skin damage, and wrinkles may recur as time passes. So you may want to consider follow-up treatments in the future.

What are Laser Resurfacing Costs?

To discuss laser skin resurfacing costs, we recommend making an appointment with one of our highly trained skin care specialists. They will help you determine what exactly needs to be done to reach your aesthetic goals, and give you a more accurate price estimate based on that. Call us today and we'd be happy to schedule this for you at your earliest convenience.
