For some individuals, the neck begins to show age faster than the rest of the face, and many times patients only need a neck lift, rather than a full facelift. A neck lift, also known as a platysmaplasty or submental platysmaplasty, is a surgery designed to reduce the loose look of sagging skin in the neck area and under the jaw line.
Are you a resident of Daytona Beach, Palm Coast New Smyrna Beach or the surrounding areas and you think you may be a good candidate for this procedure? Then give us a call today and set up your complimentary consultation. During this appointment, Dr. Schalit will discuss your goals, answer any questions you may have, and show you some neck lift before and after pictures. He will also discuss neck lift prices with you if that is a concern.
How is a Neck Lift Performed?
The time and extent of the neck lift procedure will vary depending on the patient, as some might choose to have this done in conjunction with another procedure such as Liposuction or facelift. During the platysmaplasty procedure, your surgeon will make an incision under your chin or behind your ears. This will give him access to your neck muscles, which he will manipulate from there and hold into position with sutures.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Neck Lift?
Some patients who complain of having a fleshy neck, “jowls,” plastysma or neck “banding,” or a “turkey waddle” can benefit from this procedure. Many times, patients choose to have a neck lift with their facelift procedure.
You must realize that the neck lift or facelift procedure is not designed to rejuvenate the area above the brow or around the eyes. If this is what you seek, a brow lift (or forehead lift) or blepharoplasty may benefit you. These four procedures can be performed in conjunction with one another for a complete transformation. You may even want to have laser resurfacing, if you are a candidate, for increased wrinkle ablation and facial rejuvenation. What are Neck Lift Costs?
Because this procedure is often performed to complement other procedures, it’s best to discuss neck lift with your surgeon. Every patient has a different goal in mind, and we like to treat each patient with individual care.
