Bone Grafting
Florida Oral & Facial Surgical Associates offers bone grafting to patients in Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, New Smyrna Beach, Titusville, Deltona, Port Orange and Ormond Beach, FL.
Bone grafting is a surgical procedure by which new bone or a replacement material is placed into spaces between or around broken bone (fractures) or holes in bone (defects) to aid in healing and growth. It is often used in cases of periodontal disease, trauma or ill-fitting removable dentures in order to reverse any bone loss or damage due to these conditions.
Here at Florida Oral & Facial Surgical Associates, we are happy to answer all of your questions regarding any of our procedures. So if you have a question about bone grafting prices, if you'd like to see some bone grafting before and after pictures, or if you have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to call us.
What are the Common Reasons for Bone Grafting?
Bone grafting is used to repair bone fractures that are extremely complex, pose a significant risk to the patient, or fail to heal properly. Bone grafting is also used to help correct deformities, or provide structural support to atrophy bone and stimulate new bone growth. In addition, bone grafting is used to repair defects in bone caused by birth defects, traumatic injury or surgery for bone cancer.
If you're a resident of Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, New Smyrna Beach or any of the surrounding areas and you'd like to see some bone grafting before and after pictures, please give us a call today.
What Types of Bone Grafting are There?
Generally, there are three different types of bone grafting. Autogenous refers to bone that is taken from one area of the patient and transplanted to the treatment area. Allograft is a procedure that uses either synthetic bone or bone from a cadaver. Finally, it's also possible to use a bovine/cow bone in a xenograft procedure.
What are Bone Grafting Costs?
Bone grafting prices will vary based on the patient's specific needs. Because it is such an individualized procedure, we recommend calling us today to set up a consultation with one of our highly trained and experienced oral surgeons. They would be happy to sit down with you and discuss the procedure in more detail, answering any questions you might have.
